Happy Halloween!

Another Halloween has come and gone taking with it my poor doomed pumpkins (now smashed in the street by evil teenagers) and leaving us enough candy to keep our waistbands expanding for weeks to come. Isabelle could hardly wait to trick-or-treat while Madeleine just seemed confused as to why she was stuffed inside a giant purple elephant.

Princess Jasmine and "Lumpy" the purple heffalump.

"Look! I'm still somewhat mobile! (No thanks to you Mommy!)"

"I will admit I'm nice and cozy."
Off to trick-or-treat!
Yes, indeed it was raining but we were not be deterred from the promise of Snickers bars, Almond Joy and Reese's Peanut Butter Cups. We actually got lucky - there was a 1-hour break in the downpour so we were just drizzled on - well worth it for the payload Isabelle came home with. However, now that I'm looking at this picture again it appears that I'm trying out some new-fangled torture device on poor Madeleine.

Madeleine: "I'm beginning to feel a bit ridiculous."
The first piece of Halloween candy, devoured slowly, with relish. It was a tasty Mounds bar.
Madeleine: "Isabelle got the princess costume and all the candy? Life just isn't fair! At least I get to play with all the shiny wrappers."
Here are my Halloween sweeties in action.

The day after Halloween is still pretty great with all the candy sorting and re-sorting. Isabelle spent a good hour teaching Madeleine the finer points of classification.
And finally Madeleine has had enough and Isabelle says, "okay Maddy I'll do it myself" as her protege crawls away.

Wow, I don't think you could have picked a more perfect costume than Princess Jasmine for Isabelle. And your little purple elephant looked adorable too!

Love the Princess Jasmine costume for Isabelle. Nicholas is a big fan of Aladdin too of late (although Mommy is getting a tad sick of the Aladdin CD we have to play over and over in the car - hopefully Santa will bring us something new). And Maddy makes an adorable Heffalump -don't think I've seen that one before - and lavender is an awesome color for her!

I am catching up on your blog...my mind has been packing and sorting for so long I feel out of touch. Your posts are great! And your girls are always sooooo cute, and certainly shined their cuteness on Halloween! :)
