Six-Year-Old in the House!

The invitations were sent...

The food was made...

...and ordered.
The decorations were set...
...(even though some got damp) (:
There were even live ladybugs!

(FYI: There is nothing ladylike about 100 bugs crawling on your kitchen counter while you try to capture them to put in the "ladybug carnival". There was definitely more than a minute of panic as the creepy crawlies sped, flew and raced for cover as I tried to wrangle them. Note to self: When instructions say to place container in the refrigerator for 30 minutes to slow the bugs down, this means they will slow down for about as long as it takes you to open the jar and expose them to fresh air, at which point they will become refreshed, free and unmanageable.)

Don't worry though, the carnival made a great centerpiece for the arts and crafts table.

Isabelle's friends arrived, made ladybug bracelets and tatted themselves up with ladybug tattoos.

Madeleine had her own personal helper all day.

Games were played...

There were winners...

...and people who tried really hard. :)

They ate...

...played...

...and opened presents.

There were cupcakes...

...and love affairs.

And then there was this:

But alas, all good things must come to an end.

Happy Birthday Isabelle!! You're the sweetest little bug of all!
